An emotional Jose Reyes was carted off the field in the sixth inning with an air cast stabilizing his left ankle.
The extent of the injury will not be determined until Saturday, but Blue Jays general manager Alex Anthopoulos said Reyes will go on the disabled list and could be out from one to three months.
Reyes, who is batting .395, greeted reliever Luke Hochevar with a two-run single, making it 8-4, but injured his left leg while stealing second base.
Anthopoulos already has had trade discussions with other teams for shortstops to fill in for Reyes while he's out, the Toronto Star reported.
"Sunny days wouldn't be special if it wasn't for rain," Reyes tweeted. "Thank you guys For all the love and the prayers. I put everything is God's hands for he is the one that's got me here."
