Jason High Withdraws from UFC Fight Night 35 with Ruptured Appendix

Jason High suffered a ruptured appendix on Wednesday, forcing him into surgery and out his upcoming UFC Fight Night 35 bout.

MMAWeekly.com confirmed the information with the fighter's manager, Mike Kogan, after High posted images on his social media pages, expressing his frustration about being inflicted with appendicitis.

“Ruptured appendix on New Year's Day,” High wrote, adding that he will be unable to compete on the Jan. 15 card.

High was scheduled to face Beneil Dariush at the Duluth, Ga., event, but Wednesday's news prevents that fight from even coming close to happening, Kogan said.

UFC officials did not announce a replacement opponent for Dariush, who himself recently replaced Adlan Amagov to fight High on the card.

UFC Fight Night 35 is scheduled to be headlined by a middleweight bout between Luke Rockhold and Costa Philippou.
