Jaromir Jagr passes Gordie Howe while setting another NHL record (Video)
We don’t know when Jaromir Jagr will finally retire, but as long as he keeps playing he’ll continue to set new records like he did Friday night.
With a pair of assists in Florida’s 4-3 shootout win over the New York Rangers, the 45-year-old Jagr passed Gordie Howe for most points by an NHL player after turning 40. That comes out to 104 goals and 165 assists, according to Elias.

The record-breaking point came in the third period on a nice dish to set up an Aleksander Barkov goal.
Here’s the updated list of graybeards with the most points after hitting the big 4-0:
Jaromir Jagr – 269
Gordie Howe – 268
Teemu Selanne – 197
Mark Recchi – 171
Johnny Bucyk – 144
Jagr on passing Howe for most pts after 40: "“I’m going to pass him for most points after 50.'' #jags #flapanthers

We’ve all played the “what if” game with Jagr’s NHL career had he not missed so much time due to lockouts and those three years in the KHL. But who knows, he’s said he wants to play until he’s 50, so there are still plenty of milestones left for the mulleted one to hit before he finally hangs up his skates for good.
