James Harden put up 38 points to lead the Houston Rockets to a victory over the Los Angeles Lakers, 113-99. Houston (23-13) has now won back-to-back games after defeating New York Knicks on Friday.
Harden shot 14-23 (2-7 from three-point range) in a quality offensive outing. Other top performers for Houston were Dwight Howard with 20 points and 13 rebounds, and Terrence Jones with 15 points and 13 rebounds. Nick Young had another big game off the bench for Los Angeles in the loss, putting up 25 points on 10-20 shooting, including 2-6 from behind the arc. Pau Gasol contributed 21 points and 12 rebounds and Jordan Hill finished with 10 points and 8 rebounds.
In addition to 29.2% from 3-point range, the Lakers tallied an eFG% of just 44.9%. They are winless (0-4) on the season when registering marks below 30% and 45%, respectively, in those statistics. The Rockets, conversely, are undefeated (7-0) when holding the opposition to such dismal shooting numbers.
Los Angeles (14-22) has now dropped their last three straight.
