Report: Jameis Winston out for several weeks

We’re fast hitting a point where there are more NFL stars on the sideline than the field. Tampa Bay has announced it is shutting Jameis Winston down “for a few weeks” because of a shoulder injury, per ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Tampa Bay is one of the most disappointing teams in the league, and Winston’s woes are part of the problem. He’s thrown 10 touchdowns but six interceptions, totaling 1,920 yards through the season’s first half. The Bucs are 2-6 and effectively eliminated from NFC South contention; Ryan Fitzpatrick will now be running the show in Tampa.

Sunday was a remarkable day, and not in a good way, for the Tampa Bay quarterback. Winston gave a bizarre pregame speech, then left the game with the shoulder injury, then instigated a fight with New Orleans’ Marshon Lattimore. All in all, a bit of rest might help heal up more than just an injured shoulder.
