The Jacksonville Jaguars, who are guaranteed to finish as one of the two worst teams in the league, padded their injured reserve numbers Monday when they placed wide receiver Cecil Shorts, linebacker Greg Jones and running back Rashad Jennings on the list.
That gives the Jags (2-13) 20 players on IR as they prepare to finish the season Sunday at Tennessee.
Shorts, who had missed a game Dec. 9 with a concussion, suffered another Sunday against New England. Jones suffered a leg injury. Jennings had missed three games with a shoulder injury.
Shorts, a second-year player, is second on the team with 55 catches for a team-best 979 yards and seven touchdowns.
Jennings, who briefly took over as the starting running back when Maurice Jones-Drew was injured, ran for 283 yards on 101 carries. He had been replaced in the starting lineup by Jalen Parmele and then Montell Owens.
The Jaguars promoted receiver Jerrell Jackson from the practice squad and added two players who had been placed on waivers by the Minnesota Vikings on Saturday: guard Mark Asper and tight end Allen Reisner.
