Jacksonville holds off Florida A&M 76-72

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) -- Marcel White scored 16 points and Vincent Martin hit four late free throws to help Jacksonville hold off Florida A&M 76-72 Saturday.

The Dolphins (2-3) led by as much as 10 during the second half, but Florida A&M surged back to within two after a Willie Conner layup.

After a Jarvis Haywood free throw, Conner hit a jumper to make the score 68-69. Tyler Alderman answered with a three-point play for Jacksonville.

Jamie Adams and Muhammad Abdul-Aleem each hit a pair of free throws for the Rattlers (1-4) to tie the game with 21 seconds left.

Martin was sent to the line twice in the final three seconds and sank all four free throws to seal the win.

Alderman scored 13 points and Haywood added 10 with nine rebounds.

Adams paced Florida A&M with 22 points and hit a trio of 3-pointers, while Reggie Lewis added 18.
