The Boston Celtics announced that Isaiah Thomas will miss the remainder of the 2017 postseason after aggravating a right femoral-acetabular impingement with labral tear (hip) during Game 2 of the Eastern Conference finals on Friday night. The two-time All-Star did not travel to Cleveland with the team and is currently evaluating treatment options.

The Celtics are down 0-2 to the Cleveland Cavaliers in the series.

Thomas originally re-injured his hip during Game 6 of the Celtics series against the Washington Wizards last week. Celtics head coach Brad Stevens told reporters that Thomas underwent a variety of tests leading up to Game 7 of that series, which he ended up playing in.

Thomas played in the first half of Game 2 against the Cavs before being ruled out for the rest of the game with his team trailing by 41 points.

It has been a tough postseason for Thomas off the court as well. His sister, Chyna, died in a car crash before the Celtics played the Bulls in the first round.

Thomas averaged 23.3 points per game in the playoffs and 28.9 points per game during the regular season.
