Cleveland Cavaliers guard Kyrie Irving sat out his first game of the season on Thursday night because of a bruised left knee.
Point guard Jarrett Jack started against the Orlando Magic in place of Irving, who is listed as day to day.
Irving leads the Cavaliers in scoring this season at 22.2 points per game.
The injury occurred in the third quarter of Tuesday night's 91-76 loss to the Indiana Pacers. Irving went down on a drive to the basket after he felt a pop in the knee that later was diagnosed as a bruise.
In his first two NBA seasons, Irving has missed 38 games because of injuries.
The Cavaliers (10-21) entered Thursday night with a six-game losing streak.
