MILAN (AP) -- Inter Milan rallied to beat Fiorentina 2-1 on Thursday to stay in touch with Italian league leader Roma.
U.S.-born forward Giuseppe Rossi continued his good run of form since returning from two years of injuries, putting Fiorentina ahead from the penalty spot on the hour mark to take his tally to six goals in seven matches.
It was only the second goal Inter had conceded this season.
Esteban Cambiasso leveled with an acrobatic scissor kick in the 72nd minute and fullback Jonathan scored the winner 7 minutes from time.
''We deserved to win, even though we suffered against a great team,'' Inter coach Walter Mazzarri said. ''We should have done better with our counter attacks. If we had done so, we would have gone in at halftime in front.''
Inter moved level with Juventus and Napoli, two points behind Roma. Fiorentina is three points further back after its first loss of the season.
BARCELONA, Spain (AP) - Villarreal scored in the first minute on its way to a hard-fought 2-1 win at home over Espanyol on Thursday, keeping the promoted side undefeated through six rounds in the Spanish league.
Villarreal stayed in fourth place and two points behind third-place Real Madrid. Leader Barcelona and Atletico Madrid are a further two points ahead.
Striker Jeremy Perbet needed just 30 seconds to put Villarreal ahead at El Madrigal Stadium by volleying in a cross by Hernan Perez that Cani had headed down to him in the area. Ruben ''Cani'' Gracia then set up substitute Jonathan Pereira to tap in the hosts' second goal on a counter attack in the 67th after streaking down the left flank.
Espanyol forward Sergio Garcia pulled one back in the 80th when he spun away from his marker and drilled a shot past goalkeeper Sergio Asenjo to leave the result in doubt until the final whistle.
It was Espanyol's first loss of the season.
Also, Athletic Bilbao fought back for an entertaining 2-1 win over Real Betis, while Getafe beat visiting Celta Vigo 2-0.

Rennes moved ahead of Saint-Etienne on goal difference but was fortunate to get a point as Montpellier missed several scoring chances as it drew for the fifth time in seven games.
Montpellier is in 13th place.
Wingers Anthony Mounier and Remy Cabella both came close to scoring for Montpellier and the hosts had two penalty claims waved away in the closing stages.
