An Orlando Magic stunt-team member injured in a fall Tuesday night is expected to make a full recovery after apparently landing on her head, the Magic said Wednesday.
Jamie Woode's foot slipped when she was being hoisted onto a team member's shoulders during a break in the Magic's game against the New York Knicks in Orlando, Fla.
Medical personnel attended to Woode on the court, causing a delay in the game won by the Knicks, before taking her from the arena on a stretcher to an ambulance. Woode waved to the crowd with both hands while exiting the court.
An examination at Orlando Regional Medical Center indicated no neurological damage. Woode was listed in stable condition with three fractured vertebrae and a broken rib.
"Breathing on her own, moving her extremities, according to paramedics which attended to her," Magic spokesman Joel Glass said.
