Toronto Raptors forward Andrea Bargnani will miss Wednesday night's game against Boston and possibly the rest of the season.
Bargnani reinjured his right elbow and did not travel with the team to Boston, the Toronto Star reported. While awaiting the doctors' diagnosis and results of an MRI on Monday, there are fears that the injury is serious enough to preclude Bargnani's return.
"All the doctors have to get together and come to a decision on what's going on," Raptors coach Dwane Casey told the Star. "I'm in the dark a little bit as far as that decision goes."
Bargnani tore the elbow ligament and injured his right wrist in early December. He sat out 26 games and then returned for 14 games before reinjuring the elbow in Friday night's loss to the Lakers in Los Angeles.
When Bargnani, 27, has been on the floor this season, he has struggled. He's averaging 12.7 points per game, below his career average of 15.2 points, and shooting 40 percent from the floor and 31 percent on 3-pointers.
