MLB Indians Get 2-0 Shutout Over Athletics
Justin Masterson surrendered only three hits in seven innings and John Axford fanned two in relief as Cleveland blanked Oakland, 2-0. Oakland posted a batting average of just .161, despite a season average of .242.
Masterson (0-0) got a no-decision after he allowed no runs on three hits with four strikeouts and one walk. Axford went one inning to successfully convert his first save of the season after striking out two and walking two. Jim Johnson (0-1) got tagged with the loss, registering 1/3 of an inning and allowing two runs on two hits with no strikeouts and one walk.
The Indians will continue the series with the Athletics on Tuesday at The Coliseum at 7:05 PM PDT.
