Indiana's third-round WNIT opponent is locked in.
IU will take on SMU at 7 p.m. Thursday at Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall for the right to advance to the quarterfinals. The Mustangs knocked off Abilene Christian 59-52 on Monday night.
SMU (19-14) needed overtime to beat Louisiana Tech 75-70 in the opening round of the WNIT. The Mustangs have won six of their last eight games but went 7-9 during the American conference season.
The Hoosiers (22-10) defeated Saint Louis 71-53 in the second round of the WNIT and Ball State 71-58 the round before.
The winner between IU and SMU will advance to take on the winner of JMU vs. Villanova. It's unclear whether or not the Hoosiers will continue to host games after Thursday.
