Two college basketball teams are ranked No. 1 this week.
Despite falling to Illinois on Thursday, Indiana held on to its No. 1 ranking in the Associated Press top 25 media poll released Monday. However, Duke climbed back to the No. 1 spot in the USA Today coaches poll released later Monday.
Indiana (21-3) rebounded from the loss to beat Ohio State on Sunday, and the Hoosiers' retention of the No. 1 spot in the AP poll stopped a five-week string of new teams occupying the top spot.
The Hoosiers got 26 first-place votes in the AP poll, while No. 2 Duke (21-2) received 20, No. 3 Miami (19-3) picked up 17 and No. 5 Gonzaga (23-2) got the remaining two. No. 4 Michigan (21-3) had no first place votes.
In the coaches poll, Duke got 18 first-place votes to just six for Indiana, which was No. 2 in that poll.
Gonzaga is No. 3 in the USA Today poll, which is the highest ranking the Bulldogs have ever received in either poll.
Miami is fourth and Michigan fifth in the coaches poll.
Kansas slipped to 14th in the AP poll and `13th in the coaches poll after losing for the third straight time on Saturday. The Jayhawks face Kansas State on Monday.
