Chicago -- Illinois-Chicago overcame a huge halftime deficit and held Milwaukee scoreless over the final nine minutes to post a 60-50 victory in a Horizon League game Wednesday at the UIC Pavilion.
Senior guard Gary Talton had 14 points and eight rebounds to lead the Flames (12-8, 3-4 Horizon), who have won two of their last three games.
Senior guard Paris Gulley had 14 points and six rebounds for the Panthers (5-15, 1-5 Horizon), who have lost five of six.
Milwaukee never trailed in the first half. The Panthers led by only three midway through the first half, but they outscored the Flames 15-6 over the next 5:28 to take a commanding 30-18 lead.
Milwaukee led 42-25 at the break and extended its lead to 19 points early in the second half, but the Flames stormed back, mounting a 15-2 run to cut the Panthers' lead to 46-40 with 11:32 to play.
The Panthers went up 50-41 with 9:39 left, but were held scoreless the rest of the game.
The Flames ended the game on a 19-0 run while the Panthers missed their last 12 field-goal attempts.
