Illinois-Chicago returned to the .500 mark Saturday as it held off a late Wright State charge for 55-49 win, its first Horizon League road victory of the season.
Gary Talton scored a game-high 18 points as the Flames (13-8, 4-4) beat the Raiders 55-49 at the Nutter Center for their third victory in four games. Talton was also 11-of-14 from the free throw line while teammate Josh Crittle added 11 points.
Cole Darling had 11 points Wright State (14-7, 5-3) which fell into a second place tie with Wisconsin-Green Bay.
The Raiders battled back from a 26-14 halftime deficit to within three points at 43-40 on Tavares Sledge's jumper. But Talton replied with a 3-pointer with 2:36 to play and added two free throws 20 seconds later for a 48-41 Flames lead.
Wright State resumes Horizon play Wednesday at against Detroit while Illinois-Chicago hosts Green Bay on Thursday.
