Idaho dismisses starting quarterback

One week after head coach Robb Akey was fired, Idaho has dismissed its starting quarterback for a violation of team rules.

The school on Monday announced the dismissal of two players -- quarterback Dominique Blackman, who has started seven games, including Idaho's most recent game against Louisiana Tech, and linebacker Conrad Scheidt, who started three games.

Also, tight end Taylor Elmo has been suspended for violating athletic department policy.

Blackman has completed 63 percent of his passes this season, with nine touchdowns and 13 interceptions.

Idaho is 1-7 and faces San Jose State on Saturday after having a bye this past weekend.
