Cleveland Browns starting quarterback Brian Hoyer suffered an apparent right knee injury in the first quarter of Thursday night's NFL game against the Buffalo Bills in Cleveland.
Hoyer was attempting to escape pressure and run for a first down when his legs bent awkwardly underneath him while being tackled by Bills linebacker Kiko Alonso. Hoyer was helped off the field and then walked to the locker room without assistance.
Brandon Weeden, who began the season as the starting quarterback, replaced Hoyer and drew boos from the crowd.
The Browns listed Hoyer, who completed 2 of 4 passes for 25 yards and ran one time for 11 yards, as questionable to return to the game.
With Hoyer as the starter, the Browns (2-2) had won their previous two games.
