Hot-shooting Liberty overwhelms Greensboro 84-47

LYNCHBURG, Va. (AP) -- Tomasz Gielo scored 13 points while Antwan Burrus and John-Caleb Sanders each added 12 as Liberty rolled past Division-III Greensboro 84-47 Saturday night.

Liberty (4-5) jumped out to an 8-0 lead and never looked back, using a 27-7 run fueled by 3-pointers from Sanders and Casey Roberts to coast toward a 29-point lead at halftime. The Flames continued the onslaught in the second half, leading by as much as 45.

Burrus, Gielo and Sanders combined to shoot an efficient 14 of 18, helping Liberty to a 62.2 field goal percentage. Burrus had a game-high six rebounds, while Gielo and Sanders each pulled down five.

Greensboro struggled from the field, managing just 17 points in the first half, making 18 of its 54 attempts, and was outrebounded 40-19.

Tracy Jester led the Pride with nine points and Edric Roberts had eight.
