LEXINGTON, Ohio (AP) -- Sam Hornish Jr. has won the pole for the second annual NASCAR Nationwide Children's Hospital 200 at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course.
Hornish, an Ohio native, had a lap speed of 95.873 around the 2.258-mile road course located midway between Columbus and Cleveland.
The 90-lap race is set for the afternoon.
Defending champ AJ Allmendinger is not competing, choosing instead to race at the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race in Michigan.
