Indiana baseball road hot bats and heavy winds in Northwestern to a pair of victories to open the Big Ten season.

The Hoosiers (12-8-1) took full advantage of howling winds up in Evanston, lighting up the Wildcats for 19 runs over the two games. IU took the opening slugfest 13-9 before holding on to a 5-4 win in the evening game.

IU sophomore infielder Matt Lloyd, a junior college transfer, was the hottest hitter of them all, blasting four homers over the two contests.

Indiana will look for a sweep at 3 p.m. Saturday in the final game of the series. Left-handed freshman Andrew Saalfrank (1-1, 5.24 ERA) will get the start against Northwestern's Josh Davis (1-0, 2.93 ERA).
