Lionel Hollins and Brian Shaw are the leading candidates for the vacant Denver Nuggets head coaching job, according to multiple reports.
The Memphis Grizzlies recently parted ways with Hollins even though he guided them to the Western Conference finals with a 56-26 record and the No. 5 seed.
Shaw, who has been an NBA assistant coach, is regarded as an ideal fit for a young roster because of his approach. He also preaches defense. Shaw is an assistant with the Indiana Pacers who also worked with Phil Jackson previously as part of the Los Angeles Lakers' coaching staff.
The Nuggets let George Karl go last week, despite winning NBA Coach of the Year after leading the team to the No. 3 seed in the playoffs with a 57-25 mark. Denver lost to the Golden State Warriors in the first round.
