WILMINGTON, N.C. (AP) -- Zeke Upshaw scored 27 points, including seven 3-pointers, to lift Hofstra to a 69-64 win over North Carolina-Wilmington on Wednesday night.
The Pride (6-11, 2-1 Colonial Athletic Association) held on to a narrow lead throughout the second half and needed a 5-0 spurt that included an Upshaw trey with about five minutes left to hold off the Seahawks for the win.
Jordan Allen and Moussa Kone contributed 10 points apiece for Hofstra, which hit 23 of 50 from the field. Upshaw's 7 of 10 from 3-point range in a single game tied a school record.
UNC-Wilmington (6-13, 0-4) kept the game close and twice tied it up in the second half, once at 46 on a Luke Hager 3-pointer with 11:51 to go and then again at 53 on an Addison Spruill jumper three minutes later.
Chris Dixon had 15 points for the Seahawks and Cedrick Williams had 14.
