Indiana Pacers center Roy Hibbert expressed his displeasure Thursday with Miami Heat forward Shane Battier in a tweet about a foul in the first quarter of Wednesday night's playoff game.
Battier drove into the lane after taking a pass from teammate LeBron James and, extending his right leg, kneed Hibbert in the midsection with 2:47 left in the first quarter. A charging foul was called.
"U can knee or kick me every time u drive 2the rim. Ill be there 2protect the rim. That wasn't inadvertent. Battier knew what he was doing," Hibbert wrote on his Twitter account late Thursday afternoon.
Hibbert crumpled to the court and stayed down for about 10 seconds. Referees reviewed the play to determine whether the foul was fragrant but decided it wasn't.
Battier was not available for comment.
The Heat won 103-102 to take a 1-0 lead in the best-of-seven Eastern Conference finals.
