HONOLULU (AP) -- Christian Standhardinger had 22 points, 14 in the first half, to lead Hawaii to a lopsided, 114-63 win over intrastate rival UH-Hilo Thursday night.
The win snapped a two-game losing streak for Hawaii, which dropped a pair of games on the mainland last week, extending its mainland losing streak to five games dating back to last season. Hawaii now has won all six meetings with the Division II Vulcans from the Big Island.
Standhardinger was 10 of 12 from the field to notch his third 20-point game of the season and the 14th of his career. Isaac Fotu had 17 points for the Rainbow Warriors (3-2) and Aaron Faldes added 16 points off the bench.
The Hawaii offense was once again efficient taking care of the ball, committing just 11 turnovers, its season average.
Darnell Williams had 15 points to lead the Hawaii-Hilo, with 12 points from Brandon Thomas.
