Memphis Grizzlies guard Tony Allen was suspended one game without pay for kicking Los Angeles Clippers guard Chris Paul in the face, the NBA announced Tuesday.
The incident, for which Allen was assessed a flagrant 2 foul and ejected, occurred with 1:51 remaining in the first quarter of the Grizzlies' 106-102 win over the Clippers on Monday night at the Staples Center.
Allen will serve his suspension on Wednesday when the Grizzlies play the Golden State Warriors at Oracle Arena.
The 10-year veteran makes $4.5 million this season and a one-game suspension will cost him roughly $40,900.
Allen apologized to Paul on Twitter.
"First thing first, apologies (to Chris Paul for the) accidental kick," Allen wrote.
