Gonzaga No. 1 for first time in school history

Gonzaga is ranked No. 1 in both major polls for the first time in school history.
The Associated Press media and USA Today coaches polls were released Monday.
Gonzaga (29-2), which has the best record in Division I, got 51 of 65 first place votes in the AP top 25. Indiana (25-4) dropped to No. 2 and received seven first place votes after losing to Minnesota last week.
Duke (25-3) stayed at No. 3 after losing to Virginia but beating Miami. The Blue Devils picked up five first place votes. Kansas moved up two spots to No. 4 as did No. 5 Georgetown. The Hoyas received the remaining two first place votes.
Gonzaga received 29 of 31 top votes in the coaches poll. No. 3 Kansas and No. 6 Louisville received the others. Indiana dropped to No. 2, Duke came in at No. 4 and Georgetown in fifth.
Miami, Michigan, Louisville, Kansas State and Michigan State made up the rest of the AP top 10 while the remainder of the USA Today top 10 was No. 7 Miami, No. 8 Michigan, No. 9 Florida and No. 10 Kansas State.
No. 21 Virginia Commonwealth and No. 23 UCLA replaced Butler and Louisiana Tech in the AP top 25.
