Glen Davis gets double-double, Magic beat Bobcats
Glen Davis finished with 17 points and recorded 12 rebounds, his first double-double of the season, to lead the Orlando Magic to a victory over the Charlotte Bobcats, 92-83. Orlando (7-15) has won just three of its last 10 games.
Davis finished 8-17 from the field. Other top contributors for Orlando included Jameer Nelson with 17 points and 7 rebounds, Arron Afflalo with 16 points and 5 assists, and Nikola Vucevic with 12 points and 14 rebounds. Despite the loss, Gerald Henderson scored 12 points for Charlotte on 3-14 shooting (1-3 on 3-point attempts), in addition to going 5-5 from the free throw line. Al Jefferson added 10 points and 11 rebounds and Cody Zeller finished with 10 points and 6 rebounds.
Surprisingly, Orlando controlled the offensive glass in this matchup, finishing with an OR% of 30.4%. They rank 27th in the NBA in OR% this season at 21.9%. Conversely, the defense of Charlotte has been tough on the backboards this season, placing first in the league with a DR% of 77.1%. The Bobcats posted an eFG% of just 39.3%, including 23.5% from 3-point range. This year, they are 1-6 when they record marks below 45% and 30% in those respective categories. On the other hand, the Magic are 3-1 when holding their opponents to such low percentages.
