Even though it was Christmas Day, the New York Giants were still busy Wednesday.
The team announced two personnel moves in preparation for Sunday's season-ending game against the Washington Redskins.
Both moves involved 2013 draft picks.
Guard Eric Herman was signed to the 53-man roster from the practice squad, while safety Cooper Taylor was placed on injured reserve.
Herman, who was chosen in the seventh round of April's draft, was waived on Aug. 31 and re-signed Sept. 1 to the practice squad, where he has spent all season until Wednesday's promotion.
Taylor, a fifth-round pick, suffered a hamstring injury vs. the Chargers on Dec. 8 and has missed the last two games. He missed three games earlier in the season due to a shoulder injury. All told, he's played in 10 games in 2013, primarily on special teams. He scored a touchdown on Nov. 10 vs. Oakland after picking up a blocked punt and rambled 21 yards for the score.
Lastly, the Giants also signed defensive back Travis Howard to the practice squad to replace Herman.
