The San Francisco Giants agreed to a one-year contract with right-hander Ryan Vogelsong, multiple media outlets reported Friday.
Financial terms were not released by the club, but the San Francisco Chronicle reported earlier in the week that the guaranteed portion of the deal was expected to be about $3 million and incentives could make the contract worth up to $8 million.
Assistant general manager Bobby Evans said the contract is pending a physical exam, which is expected next week.
The Giants previously declined a $6.5 million club option on Vogelsong for next year, but both parties agreed to leave open the possibility of renegotiating a new deal.
Vogelsong went 4-6 with a 5.73 ERA over 19 starts this year. He missed about two months after breaking two bones in his right pinkie finger when he was hit by a pitch while swinging May 20.
He combined to win 27 games in 2011 and '12.
