Gerald Green finished with 33 points to help the Phoenix Suns beat the Atlanta Hawks, 129-120. The Suns shot really well, finishing 44-80 (55.0%) from the field, including 15-24 (62.5%) from beyond the arc. This is the second win in as many games for Phoenix (35-24) after beating New Orleans on Friday.
Green finished 9-14 from the field (5-8 on 3-pointers) and 10-10 from the free throw line, in a solid outing. Other key performers for Phoenix were Markieff Morris with 21 points and 8 rebounds, Goran Dragic with 19 points and 8 assists, and Marcus Morris with 18 points and 9 rebounds. Jeff Teague had another strong performance for Atlanta in the loss, putting up 29 points on 14-21 shooting. He also recorded 9 assists and 6 rebounds. Elton Brand chipped in 13 points and 6 rebounds and DeMarre Carroll finished with 10 points and 6 rebounds.
Along with their eFG% of 64.4%, the Suns connected at a rate of 62.5% from 3-point range. On the season, they are 11-2 when they record marks above 55% and 40% in those respective categories. Conversely, the Hawks are 1-11 when allowing their opponents to reach those percentages.
Atlanta (26-32) has now dropped their last three straight games.
