George Hill, Paul George power Pacers over Timberwolves

George Hill and Paul George both put up 26 points to lead the Indiana Pacers to a victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves, 98-84. The Pacers were on fire, finishing 40-80 (50.0%) from the field, including 8-15 (53.3%) from beyond the arc. Indiana (13-1) has now won 4 in a row.

Hill shot 9-13 from the field (3-4 on 3-pointers) and 5-6 from the free throw line, in a quality performance offensively. He registered 5 steals and 3 rebounds as well. Lance Stephenson also contributed for Indiana, finishing with 11 points and 8 rebounds. On 6-20 shooting (1-5 on 3-point attempts), in addition to going 7-8 from the free throw line, Kevin Love put up 20 points for Minnesota in the loss. He also added 17 rebounds. Nikola Pekovic added 18 points and 11 rebounds.

The clash of top-tier defenses was won by Indiana. They rank first in the NBA in defensive efficiency this season (81.01), and held Minnesota to just 0.81 points per possession. In addition to 15.8% from 3-point range, the Timberwolves tallied an eFG% of just 34.3%. They are winless (0-4) on the season when registering marks below 30% and 45%, respectively, in those statistics. The Pacers, conversely, are undefeated (5-0) when holding the opposition to such dismal shooting numbers.

Minnesota (8-8) has now dropped consecutive games after losing to Houston on Saturday.
