Denver Nuggets forward Danilo Gallinari underwent arthroscopic surgery on his left knee to repair meniscus damage on Monday at the Steadman Clinic in Vail, Colo.
After a short recovery and rehabilitation period, Gallinari will have surgery on the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee, the team announced Tuesday.
The injury occurred April 4. At the time, Gallinari was averaging career highs of 16.2 points and 5.2 rebounds per game while making a team-best 135 3-pointers in 71 games.
The Nuggets advanced to playoffs without him but face a 3-1 deficit in their first-round series with Golden State.
