FORT WAYNE, Ind. (AP) -- Frank Gaines scored 26 points to become IPFW's all-time scoring leader in an 88-75 victory over BracketBusters foe Bowling Green on Saturday night.
Gaines was 8 of 14 from the field for the Mastodons (14-16), who won their fourth straight. Gaines finished the night with 1,773 career points, moving him past Sean Gibson, who played from 1989-93, into IPFW's top spot.
Luis Jacobo, Mario Hines and Joe Reed added 12 points apiece for IPFW, which shot 60 percent from the field and was 12 of 18 from 3-point range.
Chauncey Orr led the Falcons (11-16) with 17 points, and Jordon Crawford scored 14.
IPFW rode a 14-0 first-half run to an 18-6 lead, then kept stretching it to lead 43-26 at halftime. Bowling Green couldn't get closer than nine points down in the second half.
The schools split their only two previous meetings, in 2003 and 2004.
