Fresh Off of UFC on Fox 9 Victories, Bobby Green and Abel Trujillo Agree to Meet at UFC 169

Bobby Green and Jorge Masvidal Square Off at UFC 178 After Quick Turn from Victories

Less than a week after each of them won their respective UFC on Fox 9 bouts, Abel Trujillo and Bobby Green have been matched up to meet in the Octagon at UFC 169.

UFC officials announced the new bout on Thursday.

Green (22-5) took a huge leap up the UFC lightweight ladder at UFC on Fox 9 when he scored a unanimous decision victory over Pat Healy. The win bumped his unbeaten streak to seven consecutive fights.

Trujillo (11-5, 1 NC) is coming off of a victory over Roger Bowling at UFC on Fox 9. It was the second time the two met. The first time, Trujillo landed an illegal knee that forced a no contest result, but at UFC on Fox 9, he finished Bowling via TKO stoppage.

UFC 169 is topped by two title fights. Bantamweight champion Dominick Cruz returns to unify his belt with that of interim titleholder Renan Barão, while UFC featherweight champion Jose Aldo puts his belt on the line against Ricardo Lamas.

UFC 169 is scheduled for Feb. 1 at the Prudential Center in Newark, N.J.
