Four LIU Brooklyn players charged with assault

Four members LIU Brooklyn basketball team have been suspended indefinitely following their arrest Thursday night on charges of third-degree assault, the school announced.
Forward Julian Boyd, the reigning Northeast Conference Player of the Year, forward Jamal Olasewere, guard C.J. Garner and forward Troy Joseph have been suspended.
"LIU Brooklyn has suspended indefinitely four members of its men's basketball team for their involvement in a Sept. 14 altercation on campus," said LIU Brooklyn director of athletics John Suarez in a statement. "No other student-athletes were implicated in this incident. Until all legal and appeals processes have been completed, we will not comment further on this matter."
According to a New York Police Department spokesperson, the incident occurred at 12:30 a.m. on Friday morning. Two of the four victims are female. The altercation didn't include members of the school's track and field team, contrary to other published reports, a university spokesperson told
