The Philadelphia Flyers signed free agent center Vincent Lecavalier to a multi-year contract, the team announced Saturday.
"It is a great honor for me to be a part of the Flyers," Lecavalier said via the team website. "This is a great hockey team with a great history which I'm very proud to be a part of. I'm going to do my best to help lead this team to another championship."
Lecavalier, 33, spent 14 seasons with the Tampa Bay Lightning. He had 10 goals and 22 assists in 39 games last season.
Lecavalier was the No. 1 overall pick by the Lightning in the 1998 draft. He led the team to the 2004 Stanley Cup championship by scoring nine goals and adding seven assists in 23 playoff games that year.
For his career, Lecavalier has 383 goals and 491 assists in 1037 games.
