Florida State finished the regular season at No. 1 in both major polls, which were released Sunday.
The Seminoles (13-0) received all 62 first-place votes in the USA Today coaches poll and 56 of 60 votes in the Associated Press media poll.
Auburn moved up to No. 2 in both polls after winning Saturday's SEC championship over Missouri. Auburn (12-1) picked up the remaining four first-place votes in the AP poll.
The Seminoles and Tigers will likely play for the BCS championship. The bowl matchups will be announced Sunday night.
Alabama (11-1) and Michigan State (12-1) made up the top four in both polls. The Crimson Tide were idle and the Spartans moved up after beating Ohio State to claim the Big Ten crown.
Baylor (11-1) was fifth in the coaches poll while Stanford (11-2) was No. 5 in the AP poll. Baylor won the Big 12 championship while Stanford picked up the Pac-12 title.
Ohio State (12-1) fell from second in both polls to No. 6 in the coaches poll and No. 7 by the AP.
Missouri (11-2) fell from fifth to No. 9 in both polls.
