Florida player ejected for 'punching' Tennessee player after great acting job

Florida’s Brandon Powell was ejected in the fourth quarter of the Gators’ game vs. Tennessee for throwing a punch.

Well, that’s the reason he was ejected according to the SEC officiating crew. You can decide for yourself if what he did was actually a punch.

That flop by Tennessee defensive back Rashaan Gaulden was worse than what you see by major soccer players attempting to draw penalty kicks. And while Gaulden deserves to be both applauded and ridiculed for his absurd acting, how did the official who was so close to the play not see the blatant dive?

Powell shouldn’t have stuck out his arm, but it can be hard to harness your emotions when your team is in the midst of a second-half collapse. Tennessee scored five-straight touchdowns to turn around what was an early Florida rout. Powell also had just one catch for nine yards before he was forced to make an early exit.
