Florida Atlantic opened the second half on a 19-4 run and coasted to an 80-59 victory over Troy on Thursday night in a Sun Belt Conference game at Boca Raton, Fla.
The Owls (10-9, 5-3) never trailed in the game, and they led for good after breaking a 2-2 tie on Stefan Moody's 3-pointer at the 15:48 mark of the first half.
FAU went to the halftime locker room up only 32-28, but it scored 10 unanswered points in less than four minutes to begin the second half. The Owls stretched their advantage to 51-32 less than seven minutes after the break.
The visiting Trojans (7-11, 2-5) were never closer than 14 points the rest of the way. The Owls' biggest lead was 22 points, the last time at 73-51.
The victory gave FAU a sweep of the season series with the Trojans for the second time in three years. The Owls won 61-54 in Troy three weeks earlier.
FAU's Greg Gant, the nation's fifth-leading scorer entering the night with a 22.4-point average, scored 23 points to lead the Owls. Moody added 15 points, and Pablo Bertone scored 14 for FAU.
Antoine Myers led Troy with 15 points.
