Utah defensive tackle Star Lotulelei, considered one of the top players in this year's NFL Draft, has a heart condition that was detected when he was examined at the Scouting Combine, ESPN's Chris Mortensen reported Sunday.
Because of those findings, Lotulelei will not go through workouts in Indianapolis and will return to Utah to undergo more tests..
He is rated as the No. 7 overall prospect in the draft by NFLDraftScout.com, and it's unclear how this finding will affect his draft status.
Lotulelei's left ventricle was found to be pumping at 44 percent efficiency, while the normal rate is between 55 percent to 70 percent, according to the report. The condition was discovered by an echocardiogram exam, which is part of the Combine medical evaluation.
