Atlanta Falcons running back Steven Jackson is out for Monday night's game against the New York Jets.
Falcons coach Mike Smith said Saturday that Jackson will miss his third straight game because of a hamstring injury. Jackson did not practice this week.
NFL.com initially reported that Jackson could miss two to four weeks, meaning he may return after the Falcons' bye next week.
Jason Snelling and Jacquizz Rodgers have carried the ball in Jackson's absence for the 1-3 Falcons.
