WHAT WE LEARNED SATURDAY

1. That Portugal is not a one-man team and has the strength in depth to be a major force in the tournament.

2. That home interest in the Euros may now rest with the other co-host Austria. Which means that home interest in the tournament is hanging by a thread.

WHAT WE WANT TO SEE SUNDAY

1. More goals – hopefully some spectacular ones. Germany will fancy its chances of sticking a few past Poland, while with that dodgy Austrian defense, anything is possible.

2. Less rain. Switzerland is a stunningly beautiful country, but the incessant drizzle makes the lovely city of Geneva seem drab and uninspiring.
