SYDNEY (AP) -- Australia routed England 5-0 Sunday in the Ashes series, only the third 5-0 result in the 130-year history of the cricket competition.
The Aussies proved better bowlers, batsmen and fielders. They completed a 281-run win inside three days at the Sydney Cricket Ground.
Australia captain Michael Clarke said he told his bowlers at the start of the series that he ''thought they were the best attack in the world and I think they've shown that in five test matches.''
Former England batsman Geoffrey Boycott called it ''one of the most depressing and humiliating days for English cricket.''
