E. Illinois holds off Olivet Nazarene 67-60

CHARLESTON, Ill. (AP) -- Alex Austin scored 18 points and Dennis Green had 17 off the bench as Eastern Illinois held off Olivet Nazarene 67-60 Wednesday night.

The Panthers (1-1) had a 15 point lead with just under 15 minutes left but the Tigers (1-2) cut that to three with more than 9 minutes remaining before falling back down the stretch.

The NAIA visitors from outside of Chicago had four players in double figures. Austin Davis and reserve Reid Farchmin combined for 22 points and Zach Wagner and reserve Tyler Crater combined for 20.

The difference was at the foul line. The Panthers hit 17 of 23 free throws with Green going 9 of 11 and Austin making all five of his. The Tigers were 9 of 11 on free throws.

Reserve Keenen Anderson put together a double-double for the winners with 10 points and 11 boards.
