Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Dwayne Bowe will miss the team's home opener against the Tennessee Titans for violating the league's substance abuse policy, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. Bowe's suspension stems from the fact he was caught with marijuana back in November and forced to pay a fine by authorities.
Fantasy impact: Bowe had a disappointing season in 2013, catching just 57 passes for 673 yards and five touchdowns. Considering this is a guy who once found the end zone 15 times in a season not too long ago, Bowe has taken quite a step back in terms of his fantasy value. It's now clear after a year with Alex Smith at quarterback that the Chiefs will rely primarily on team defense and running back Jamaal Charles in order to win games.
That truth means that even with Bowe as the team's first option at receiver, there will be plenty of other pass catchers ahead of him in the draft.
