ESPN confirmed Monday that Oklahoma City Thunder star Kevin Durant hired hip-hop mogul Jay-Z's firm Roc Nation to represent him.
ESPN business reporter Dan Rovell tweeted: "It's Official: Jay-Z has signed Kevin Durant. Roc Nation Sports spokesman Ron Berkowitz has confirmed."
With the addition of Durant, Roc Nation's client list includes New York Jets rookie quarterback Geno Smith, New York Yankees second baseman Robinson Cano and WNBA player Skylar Diggins.
Jay-Z was recently licensed to work as an NBA agent, while Juan Perez, the president of Roc Nation Sports, was certified with the National Basketball Players Association.
Jay-Z launched Roc Nation Sports April 1 with plans to create a full-service agency with players in all major sports. He also had to divest his small ownership stake in the Brooklyn Nets, as owners of NBA teams can't represent players.
Durant recently parted ways with agent Rob Pelinka.
Durant scored 28.1 points per game last season and averaged 7.9 rebounds and 4.6 assists for the Thunder.
