DETROIT -- The Anaheim Ducks scored four goals in the first period en route to a 5-2 victory over the Detroit Red Wings on Tuesday at the Joe Louis Arena.
Defenseman Sami Vatanen led the way with a goal and an assist, helping the Ducks to sixth straight win.
Center Nick Bonino, right winger Jakob Silfverberg, right winger Corey Perry and center Saku Koivu also scored for Anaheim (24-7-5). Center Andrew Cogliano had three assists and goaltender Jonas Hiller made 16 saves.
Right winger Tomas Jurco got his first career goal and right winger Danny Cleary scored for Detroit (15-12-9), which lost its third straight in regulation and is winless in its last six (0-4-2). Goalie Jonas Gustavsson stopped eight of 11 shots before being replaced by Petr Mrazek late in the first period.
Mrazek made 17 saves.
Jurco, playing in his second NHL game, opened the scoring with a breakaway goal 3:15 into the game after taking a pass from left winger Drew Miller.
But it only took Anaheim 25 seconds to take over the game.
Silfverberg, in his first game back after missing 24 games with a broken right hand, tied it at 1 at 3:40 by putting in the carom off the end boards -- which came off defenseman Francois Beauchemin's wide shot -- for his fifth goal. Bonino gave the Ducks the lead 1:49 later when he put in a one-timer from the bottom of the left circle. It was Bonino's 10th goal. Perry scored his 22nd goal of the season with 1:43 left in the period from the right circle off the rush to chase Gustavsson in favor of Mrazek.
Vatanen made it 4-1 on a slap shot from the right circle with a second left in the first for his fourth goal.
Koivu scored for the Ducks in the second period to make it 5-1 before Cleary got his goal with less than two minutes left in the third.
