Ducks 5, Red Wings 2

DETROIT -- Andrew Cogliano and Bobby Ryan scored less than a minute apart early in the third period to break a tie to give the Anaheim Ducks a 5-2 win over the Detroit Red Wings at Joe Louis Arena on Friday night.

Matt Beleskey had a goal and an assist and Corey Perry also scored for Anaheim (10-2-1), which has won seven of its last eight. Viktor Fasth made 26 saves. He has won his first seven NHL starts.

Joakim Andersson got his first career goal and had an assist and Tomas Tatar scored for Detroit (7-5-2), which was without star forwards Pavel Datsyuk (upper body) and Johan Franzen (hip flexor).

Jimmy Howard stopped 33 shots.

Cogliano and Ryan scored 48 seconds apart early in the third.

Cogliano's third goal came when he tipped in a pass from Saku Koivu 1:02 into the third period and Ryan fired in his own rebound from the bottom of the left circle for his fifth goal, 1:50 into the third.

Perry capitalized on a turnover in the Detroit zone by putting in his own rebound 7:32 into the second period to tie the game at 2, for his second goal. Red Wings defenseman Ian White fanned on a pass from behind his own net.

Tatar's power-play goal had given Detroit a 2-1 lead 6:32 into the middle period. He put in a rebound for his second goal and second in two games.

Andersson opened the scoring 3:01 into the second by beating Fasth from the bottom of the right circle.

But Beleskey tied it at 1, just 26 seconds later with his second goal. He beat Howard with a snap shot from the slot.

The first period was scoreless as Anaheim out-shot Detroit 14-6.

Notes: Former Red Wings defenseman Nicklas Lidstrom, who retired after last season, is back in Detroit to do an autograph signing on Saturday. He and friend and former teammate Tomas Holmstrom, who also retired after last season, visited their former teammates at the morning skate on Friday and attended the game. Lidstrom, who won seven Norris Trophies, said he is happy in retirement. "It's a slower pace, but I enjoy it," Lidstrom said. ... The Red Wings placed forward Todd Bertuzzi on injured reserve. He had missed the previous three games due to a sore back. ... Detroit recalled center Gustav Nyquist from their American Hockey league affiliate in Grand Rapids. ... Anaheim goalie Jonas Hiller, who has missed three games due to a lower-body injury, could return on Saturday at Nashville. ... Friday was Ducks' coach Bruce Boudreau's 400th game as an NHL head coach. ... Red Wings' right wing Jordin Tootoo played his 500th NHL game.
